Haddonfield is among the handful of New Jersey public school districts that do not offer full-day kindergarten, placing it in a stark minority.
Full-day kindergarten will be available in all neighborhood schools.
At Haddon Elementary: Adding a second-floor Media Center and moving the main office would result in four classrooms dedicated to kindergarten and preschool.
At Tatem Elementary: The addition of a second-floor Media Center and two classrooms, along with the renovation of the current Media Center, would result in four classrooms dedicated to kindergarten and preschool.
At Central Elementary: Incorporating the 1890s building (former administrative offices) would result in three additional classrooms and would allow us to assign four classrooms for preschool and kindergarten.
Data shows that extended learning time results in higher achievement. Additionally, early intervention to help struggling students provides a high return on investment by reducing the need for catch-up programs in later grades.
